Purchasing a CX-9

Post a couple pics of the dealer installed DVD. I haven't seen the dealer installed version.

Here's a picture of the dealer installed system. It is wired into the car but it only uses wireless headsets, it is not wired into the car's Bose system.

Thank you. What's the viewing angle like?

The screen is clear from both the 2nd and 3rd row seats. Some random thoughts:

The 5 & 7 year olds mastered the controls rather quickly.

The headphones completely zone out the kids, on the surface this may seem like a good thing, right now, I'm not too sure. On long roadtrips, it is good to have someone to talk to.

Primary driver's first comment was that it blocks the rear view mirror, but that concern quickly faded after some miles were put on with the player being watched.

The driver has no control over the player, the kids have the remote and the headphones.

I think it would be better if the player was in the center armrest and the screen on the ceiling. Changing DVDs requires the kids to reach up out of thier seats whch causes a driver distraction while they are in a pretty much unsafe position.

Volvo places their DVD players in the back of the headrests, this is probably the best place to install these players if there is room.

Overall quality of the picture and player are good, $1200.00 seems high but now that it is in, I'm satisfied without any second thoughts.

IF you can afford the fully loaded GT, then get it. MY point is to avoid overspending your budget. That thinking is exactly why our economy crashed. Everyone borrowed more than they could ultimately afford and then couldn't pay it back.

We could have bought more car, but we use the money we save to ENJOY the car, and to save for times like this. What happens when your payment uses up every last bit of paycheck, and then your company gives you an involuntary 6 months off? Bye bye shiny new car and clean credit report.

Oh, and it's more then $50 a month. You just made my point with that. The higher MSRP increases the taxes, registration, maintenance costs, fuel costs, etc, none of which people include in their budget.
I used to think just like you guys: always buy the nicest, most expensive version. Unfortunately, when a drunk driver took me out and I couldn't work, I lost everything. I have busted my ass to go from homeless to homeowner again, and I will never end up like that again. It's great to have nice things, but we don't need everything.

By the way, PGN did exactly what buyers should do. stick to his numbers, and walk if they are not met. No dealer will throw away a sale if the offer is reasonable. Some profit is better then none, especially now. Good job.

Just my opinion. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.

Excellent advice. Words to live by. Not doom and gloom at all. People thinking that it's always going to be "GO GO HAPPY FUN TIME!" is the reason we are where we are today.

We bought it today.

It's Brilliant Black / black interior

Optional equipment:

Cargo net
All weather floormats
Wheel locks
LEV emissions equipment
1MC Moonroof/Bose/Sirrus
2PA GT Assist

MSRP was $40,350.00

We had them install a rear entertainment system ($1200.00)

Taxes / prep/ registration was around $1,800.00

Total was supposed to be $43,350.00 OTD

Trade in was a 04 Mustang trade in value $6,500.00

We told the dealer that we would drive it off the lot for $30,000.00.

He said deal way to quickly...probably should have said 28k...

I took it back up tonight to get the DVD played installed.

I'll get a better picture tomorrow when I pick it up.

Awesome price. Congrats. Post you impressions overall impressions after ownership later.

happy days?

(group)good deal or bad deal? 09 cx9 tourning awd with moonroof pkge and roof rail.msrp was $36960,invoice price $33,690. no money down, lease deal and i brought for $33,000 with taxes. and got them to deduct 900.00 of the monnroof pkge.what you think?

It seems a little high to me however the NYC market may be a little different than Boston.

I recently got a GT w, Bose, Moonroof, etc. MSRP 40190 for 32K.

I don't know about lease deal, but local Mazda dealer is offering $6000-$7000 off 2009 CX9 MSRP. Up to $10,000 off for remaining 2008 (if any)

The DVD totally blocks rear view mirror when playing.
That why they won't put RSES with moonroof package by factory default because the ceiling a lowered for the moonroof window gets in.

I would. The worst they can do is say no.

For reference the car I purchased for $32,910 had a MSRP on $40,910 and an invoice of $37,671.

I think there is some serious room to move on the car you are looking at.

if it's not too late, I'd suggest running the report on consumer reports. gave me some bargaining power.
