I've never been so freaked out....
My puppy, named Pimg (17 month old German Shepherd) was spayed on Friday and has been doing really great to date. She's probably been a lot too active, but it's hard to keep her down- she's got SO much energy.
She was laying on the tile tonight and I looked over at her because she was kinda moaning a bit. I went over to investigate and there was blood on the tile. I admit- not a lot... but when I looked at the incision- it was 100% open. Wow. Freaked. I called the vet, let them know I was coming, and drove as fast as I could without upsetting her too much.
Would I have stopped had a cop tried to pull me over? I have to say, probably not. Luckily, the vet is only about 5mins away from my house driving relatively normal...
She is now at the vet, and the poor puppy was terrified to go into the holding cage. They literally had to pick all 75lbs of her, kicking and moaning, into the cage. She is going to have surgery in a couple mins or so, and should be done around 2-3am. This time, she's gonna stay overnight.
Tonight I realized (more-so confirmed) how much that pup means to me...
Man, I love that dog!
(her name is pronounced- "pimp" without the last t, and then "gee" ...like this- "pim-gee")
