pulleys

I recently found a set of pulleys on srmotorsports. The race pulley kit is $459 and claims a 10-14 hp gain. Some of my friends say they have seen other pulley systems for cars for way cheaper, one bought some for a mustang for $80. He also says a 10 hp is barely felt and not worth $459. Anybody know of anything cheaper or think they are worth it?

relate it like this... mustangs are much more widely produced for... two this a race set of 3 pulleys (iirc) it is not just one single underdrive pulley.

I would wait till unorthodox racing comes out with some. It might be cheaper.

as far as $$ for 10hp on a mazda 500$$ isn't to bad it is a full compliment of pullys though underdrive, water, ac....(i think thats all of em?) if you go that route mine as well save up some more $$ and get a flywheel and clutch... do it all at once and you will be amazed... though for 1500 or so i think they should include a (bj)...but if i had that much money to spend i would deffinatly do it....

thats a ridculous price. the set i had for my focus was like 200. don't pay that price.

I'd wait dude. SR motorsports also sells the OBX header, which they renamed as something else, for 599 (prices slashed compared to the old price of 899). The Protege OBX header btw goes for around 210...
