Hey guys. My name is Tony and I'm new to this site and the Rotary world. I really wanted to get into rotary and I was searching for a nice stock fd. I had a s13 silvia. Came across a grade 4 Cosmo with a 20b.And the nice guy offerd a trade. Car is amazing. So smooth and makes me smile everytime I see it. Its completly stock at the moment. It's the type-s with cloth interior. Future mods Would be wheels, springs and lip kit. Keeping it Basic for now=-) Could anyone tell me where I could find springs and a nice lip kit for it? Other than that Im Super happy with my Cosmo and being my first Rotary its Awsome!!! I'll most up Some pics soon

Thanks (cabpatch)

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the site.

Where are you located? I assume outside the usa unless you found two very rare cars

Im located. In Canada bc. Lower mainland. I beleive there is two In my area. As for pictures my Camera is charging.=-) It's in absolute mint shape for its age. Original paint looks flawless but I'll let the pictures do the justice. I'll get them later on tonight. Does anyone know where I could get a Lip kit for this car, and also lowering springs. Does the Fd by anychance compare to this cosmo?Looking to do brakes and maintance but not sure what car I can compare it too.

Thanks

a rotary already has a low center of gravity. and the cosmo has quite hard suspension. try nengun.com for new and used parts.

then click aero for the kits. i have seen others but they most likely were custom. http://eunos.com.au/data/cosmo/ for the instruction manual. are you looking to change your brake system aswell?
i would treat the car like any other rotary. let it warm a little before moving it u can hear the stages it goes through on cold starts. dont push it til its warmed up and dont shut it down cold. redline it once in a while. (drive2)

Here are some Picture's. Sorry about the poor quality.

Thanks for the Sites. I took a look through them and they look great. As for the Rotary. I guess ill get a auto starter and a turbo timer. I was also told by another to run it hard once in awhile. It does run rough on a cold start for a minute or 2.As for brake system I'm just looking to change the pad's as they are low.

I really like your rims. a remote starter would be good. i only wait a few seconds til i move it but only roll real slow. as for shutdown its just so u don't turn it off when its in warm up mode it will be pumping extra fuel in. chance to flood never happened to me yet. excess petrol will dilute the oil. so if its idling low it should be okay doesnt take very long.
pads are on nengun.com under auctions otherwise most those brand i don't know though. you can use mazda 929/323 combo. dc929 rear ba323 v6 version front

Thanks. There the stock ones too.Yah that is a lil problem I do have. I usally give it at least 2 minutes to sit then shut her done, but it floods.takes a few starts to get it back up. This is only sometimes though. What would I do prevent this? I thought letting it cool for a minute after a good run would solve this but it doesnt. Also for wheel fitment/tire what size and offset would you consider? I like to go with either 18 or 17" wheels.Looking to get a staggerd look(deep dish)

yeah i know but the stock ones seem to be the rarest. lol
does it ever stall whilst driving. I'd probably check your compression. i only drive maybe one kilometer then shutit down somedays. 2 minutes is a long time. if its still in warm up mode u can either rev it for a few seconds say around 3000. or quickly put it into park and switch it off. you should get it checked out if you have trouble starting. even when my engine was on its way out it started easily first shot everytime. i only ever cool down when driving hard to let the turbo's cool. to start it when flooded keep your foot on the accelerator when you turn the key. this stops the computer from sending extra petrol.

17's are best at cornering. you go bigger but its only for looks really. i recall watching tests on a 350z (best motoring international or option) 2 identical cars same tires same rims. except one was 17 one was 18. the 18's lapped the circuit much slower. and its due to tires being designed for 17's. was a few other reasons don't recall though. but if its a cruiser 20's look good. i believe i have a stock optioned bbs. 225 front 255 rear. I'm happy enough with width. deep dishes always look mean and suit the cosmo well.

Yes they are. I like the look of the fd rims on the cosmo. No it doesn't stall while driving at all .

Just went for a drive. Stop, wait and shut done. stared up second time while foot on gass. and it was fine. Yah for me its just a cruiser. I guess I should stick with 17's.

G'day from down under.

There are two main (English) JC Cosmo web sites in Oz.

Grant Sellwood - http://www.eunos.com.au

David Morris - http://www.dmrh.com.au

Both sites are comprehensive & show plenty of Cosmo info with pics. As for a place to hang & talk shop. This forum seems pretty international & we are fortunate the webmaster happens to own one of Mazda's finest.

REgards.

Pretty nice Silvia you had there, but congrats on the Cosmo. I personally like the cosmo better.

Congratulations on your new Cosmo!

I think I saw that car for sale online, it is definitely in nice shape.

I have a 1991 20B here in Calgary, but it needs some work. I am leaning towards all out performance on this car and picking up a really low KM model to keep stock as a collectable.

Enjoy your new toy!

That would be it =-) the seller(josh) is a great guy and we both enjoy each others car very much. We were both sad to let our babies go but seem he knew I take care of this car as he would. I like the power it comes with and im satisfied for now. Also like to keep my reliability. Josh told me about a cosmo down in Calgary, I think he might be referring to you. Sounds like your gonna have a 20b monster soon=-) can't wait to see it!

Thanks! I did alot of work on that silvia and it was great to me. but the cosmo is just a lil different for me but I like the stock power and luxery side.Plus my first Rotary. I remember back them I wouldn't even think of them. From the stories Iv'e heard. after driving a stock fd with non sequential turbo's and did some research I give it a try. Glad i did

Thanks. Yup check it out seems great. I'm still new with Rotary but I was told never to add any kind of Performance coolant because of th seals, also not to use Synthetic oil. Could some one explain this. I am about to do an oil change and rad flush. whats the best oem products, and how many Litres?. Also ill being going to Air care for the first time with the car. I heard Rotaries are nightmares for emission test any tips?
