Here is where you can find the reasoning for the price. I have the tubular manifold, and I have seen linuxracers FM manifold. The FM manifold looks like it will last for 500,000 miles, but really, besides that, it doesn't look good at all. It looks like an iron block. Theres no offence to Corky for it though, because he wasn't trying to build a manifold that would be race quality. He built the manifold for reliability and longevity. I'm sure Terry's manifolds will last up around 100,000 miles, but they are built for high flow and quick spool characteristics. Put the two manifolds side by side and you will see the reason for the price. And it's not like the price is bad. It's still cheaper than the FM kit. The only downfall of SpoolinMP3's kit is that it doesn't bolt up directly to the existing exhaust system like the FM kit. The FM kit is basically "dummy proof". With Terry's kit, you will still need to take your car to a muffler shop to get the exhaust hooked up.But still 2600 is a little much. for 2300-2400 i would consider stage 1.

The only down side is no intercooler and that will be addressed soon. As for the mandrel bends, our charge pipe flows just as well as one being made in sections. If you look at all the japanese tuning houses............they prefer sectioned pieces, obisiously this is more time consuming and costly than a mandrel bent pipe but thats not what I am looking to do here.
Here were the objectives while making the kit.
Outflow the competitors manifolds
Make handmade race fabricated quality materials.
ALLOW the customer to custom specify (such as a tial wastegate over a turbonetics, or a balbearing over a sleve, full tubular vs shorty manifold)
We utilize an external wastegate over the competitions internal wastegate.
Blow the competitors price out of the water with hand fabbed stuff. Our kit is almost a 1000 dollars cheaper than the next competitor.
I could have cut corners and made the kit for even 2200 dollars but I dont want to sell a cheesy product. See there is a double edged sord here. If I release a good product at a reasonable price there will always be people questioning the price. If I release a product that is considerably cheaper and skimp on quality then people question quality.
I would rather have better quality then be known for making cheap kits.
In reality I cannot even think of a turbo kit manufacturer (i.e HKS, hahn race craft, jimwolf, drag) that even make turbo kits in the 2300-2400 dollar price range. It just not feasable to do so unless companys are willing to sell kits at no profit. Even cars like the civic that have a tremendous amount of aftermarket support do not have kits in the low 2g range. In reality most turbo kits range in the 3500-4500 range without engine managment.
Yes the 2400 price tag has a nice ring to the ears but is not realistic.
When we release stage 2 upgrade dont expect skimpy stuff either. It will be the best that money can buy. Will it be cheap....no but it will be very reasonable for what it is.
And if you really wanna save money....just buy a shorty header for 550 beans and make your own kit!![]()
This is the way things work, quality and finish play a big role in desirability. When you see a nice product that has a nice finish you say wow....sweet!
I am all ears CHOh yeah Terry I have an awesome idea you might like for a upgrade stage its a little pricey but we are talking all teh way baby.....well not too price probably in the ohhhhh 1300 buck range....IM me or PM me and I will tell you about it so we can keep it hush hush
I have something in the works for managment in the later stages. So far 4-5 psi and the FMU are posing no problems. But anything over that will be addressed. We are working on a solutionand I would assume that in his later stages he will include different fuel managment. There are alot of factors out there when deciding a turbo kit.
