protege5 with rx7 brake upgrade??

I haven't read the whole thread but wanted to mention a couple of things:

1) Make sure the I.D. for the "rotor hats" are identical.
2) Measure the offset of the hub as well, how tall is the "hat" on the rotor

If those items spec out then you can simply make a caliper bracket and you're good to go.

that's why i have custom hats. and best of all, the series 5 caliper mounts straight on to the stock points :D

i will take pics etc in the near future and post the specs so everyone can enjoy the feeling :D :D :D

Ok, need updates. I'm getting ancy. lol.

So tell me now, you have a two piece rotor that you had made in OEM RX7 sizes. Now you mentioned series 6 caliper meaning FD3S chasis right? As the series 4 and 5 were FC's.

So to start from beginning to make this work you simply need:

1. Custom Two Piece rotor = OE RX7 diameter,
2. Custom Brake line

That's it?

Caliper bolts to factory location so you're all good there. Updates please as I ahve many series 4 and 5 4 piston calipers. If FD ones are needed i'll have to see why the FC wouldn't work.

i have the series 5 caliper now. initially i had the FD, but the brake place stuffed up and now i have a series 5 4 piston caliper. they are the same measurements.

rotor - not rx7. it's actually a my01 wrx rotor (295x25mm) and custom hat

sorry i've been a bit busy lately.

Just out of interest (I have no need for an upgrade yet), but would the shop that made your custom install be able to make up an upgrade set now that they have the correct specs?

Ok great. I'm ready when you are. This means I can use the Endless FC 4 pot brake kit for the Protege. Just need to get drawings or something on this Bell of your rotor. the hat. In fact I really just need to know the offset of it, like how "tall" is it, or what distance from the disc rotor surface does this hat extend?

Are you getting good clamping area on the disc rotor surface, is the car driving?

How is it with stock brake master cylinder?

Thanks so much,

Rishie

You will be a great aid and pioneer in development of braking from Japan for this car.

its probably been a while

i too was thinking and trying to find out if the rx7 4 piston brakes would fit on my p5. i have done pretty much everything to my car myself. i just recently boosted. i am having trouble though with the whole break scenario. i would love the help. and all the offsets and things of that matter, well i have no idea what yall are talking about.
