So I recently bought a 2003 Protege5 from a small used car dealer here in Chicago, and all in all I've been happy. Sure I've had some small issues popping up here and there (CDs stuck in the 6-changer seems to be a common issue).
After driving around for a while at night, I was getting the high beam flash from every other car I passed. It took a little while, but long story short I came to realization that whoever owned the car before me (or the dealer) put protege headlights in place of the Protege5 headlights. Since the P5 lights should have two separate bulbs, I was running nothing but high beams (h4 bulb was installed - high/low beam combo).
I've rewired the harness so I'm always in low beam (and since I live in the city I have little use for the high beam anyway) for the time being. My question is since I'm halfway between two kinds of lights, should I go back to the p5 housing and bulbs, or finish up the wiring job and add my high beams to the Protege housing that's in there?
I kinda like the look as they are, but if anyone has any pros/cons of either I'm all ears.
Cheers
