guys, MP5 is definitly a sexy looking 4 door vechicle, it is probly the best hatchback ever invented...

tho it looks sporty, it is not a racer. i m not into racing so i ll get a MP5. If you want racing you should look into another car.

you can get a much better performance car at the same $ if you go for an american car !

i agree, any dude here who wants to drag race and wants to go 0-60 in 2 seconds is probably driving the wrong car. the pro5 is an excellent all around car. it was designed to complement your lifestyle....to become your friend

get the mazdaspeed or some other souped up sports car.... thats what they was designed for!
the pro5 has enough zoom zoom for me!

XRS's engine is 180 HP, 130 torque, 6 speed, MSRP 25,3xx
MP5's engine is 130 HP, 135 torque, 5 speed, MSRP 20,1xx

based on that, he should beat you consider how much he want to kick your ass.

You need to consider usable HP. The way the Matrix is geared is horrible, and it doesn't let you take full advantege of the 180hp. Alsp the HP peak is really high on the Matrix, so to get any kind of performance out of it you have to flog the hell out of it. Since the peak is so high, they can't rev much farther than the peak so they can't drop back down in the powerband when they shift.

I'm sure I could take on an XRS in my Miata(which has 140hp/ 6spd, weighs 2300lbs). I eat RSX-S's, MR2 Spyders, and Accords for breakfast.

It's not like a percentage thing. One of the members explained it better than I did, but I can't find the post. It was something to the effect of to get to a good speed to shift into third, you need to go past the rev-limiter (which obviously you cant do). So you always drop way out of powerband whin you shift. Hence you can not take full advantage of all the HP.

No disrespect to anyone in here but an Matrix XRS will smoke a P5!!! I know I have them both and both in 5sp and 6sp configurations!! The P5 handles extremely well and better then the stock for stock XRS but when you change out springs on both it becomes very even. The XRS does have the power advantage.
I can be found in Harrisburg PA if you doubt what I am saying. Road course or lite to lite its your choice. RX7's are still the best.
