Protege 5 --> Mini RC Car

sounds awsome....guess it takes up a bit of space in the basement huh? LOL

It used to...living room downstair is 14' by 22', most of it was taken by the track...took it apart 2 years ago and haven't done much with it since (furniture takes the space now). I have 3 x 4' by 8' tables with folding legs also, built exclusively for this purpose. Next time I build a track, everyone's invited :D

the wheel alignment is adjustable on the undersside of the car. I have a Mazda FD Rx-7, and I replaced the engine with a custom one made here in Texas, the stock engine is 1.0 (10,000 RPM) and I replaced it with a 3.8 (38,000 RPM), I think the largest mass produced one is a 3.0 engine. You can also upgrade the gear ratio for higher RPMs, change the tires for better traction, different' rims, and bodies.

Yea, I have and actual Bit-Char G with a Skyline body. It has the steering adjustment under the car, and you can buy the upgrade motor/gearing/wheel sets. Sound like what your talking about Equinox. I bought mine at NOPI for 20 bucks. Bought it from the Aerogear rep, dunno why he was selling them, but he was. They are pretty cool and the cats like to chase after them and swat at them with their paws, but they do tend to suck cat fur up into the gear and get stuck, lol. This is making want to fire up my Nitro RS-4!! I think I better go buy some screws for it though, the pull starter is almost completely off of it.

peace

slot cars....ahhhh what memories....i still have mine....one was a factory job...the other I hand built from scratch....they are 1/32nd scale cars I believe.....but I didn't have a track....NO ONE had a track at home....we went down to one of the strip malls near where I lived.....where there was a track...it took up about 1000 sq ft. of space....you brought your car...and your own hand control, and we paid $1/hour for time on the track. I spent many an hour racing there. It was great.....I still have my cars in a carrying case with all the goodies. even after 30 something years.

(stash)

awww yea, i remember that stuff, its only been like 5 years for me since i did it but still, i did slot car drag racing though, wow that was fun stuff, 100ft in less than a second. i think i had one car that ran it in like .3 something. man ive got to start doing that stuff again.

100ft in .3 sec...that's like (if my math's right) 227.3mph  , and what scale was the car?

Talk about grip...

Love the smilies btw. Thanks.

Yeah, I got about the same. And don't forget, that's AVERAGE speed, not TOP speed. Holy crap.

yes, those little suckers were ******* fast, some would be going so fast that they would fly through the 100 or so feet after the finish line (this section after the finish is covered with glue and such, no power to the track to slow it down), fly into the wall, pop into the padding at the end, hit the roof, and slam into the ground, occasionally into somebody that wasn't paying much attention. scale for these is like 1/24

Check out ebay auction item number 1785553753. They have the mini cars for $8.99. i paid 19.99 from the site that was posted on this thread. That sucks llama nuts.

In all the links I haven't seen a pic of the P5 r/c. Do any of you guys have one?
