Snow Tire Rim Size?

I was able to source the steelies from a local junkyard for $100. When looking for wheels in any size 14"-18" remember our bolt pattern is 5x4.5/5x114.3 and the desired hub bore is 67.1mm. The other deciding factor is the offset which will change depending on what size wheel you are looking at.

For 14's you should be good with a +35 offset ('93 Eclipse, what I have) on a 14x5.5 wheel. I'm not really sure what the desired offset for 15's would be.

So if I start phoning around to wreckers for rims, do I ask the guy for, 14" (5x4.5/5x114.3), hub bore 67.1mm, +35 offset? Are Eclipse the only ones in this size or can I get the black steelies in this size?

Sorry for the knob question but I lost 4 days pay this winter due to snow, so I want to get rims before next winter and be better prepared.

Do you think 195/65/15 winter tires will fit on a P5, without any rubbing issues?

I picked up a set of 15" alloys with Dunlop Graspic DS2 snow tires for $325... I figured for the piece of mind, it's worth every cent.

You don't have to be that specific. When you call ask if they have 14" Eclipse/Talon wheels in stock from a '93-'95 (other years may fit but it has been so long since I researched it I forget).

In my research I found that those model years have the same bolt pattern and hub bore of the Protege5.

And it can't hurt to call some wheel shops to see if they have black steelies in stock with those specs. They may and honestly it wouldn't cost that much more. I paid $100 for mine and have seen steelies sell for $35ea.

I am pretty sure that the 65 sidewall is going to be too tall. Are the tires mounted on wheels? If so what are the wheel specs and do you have a chance to test fit them?

If the seller will allow you to test fit them, go for it.
