OK WELL I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2002 MAZDA PROTEGE 5.... ALL STOCK.... THIS WAS LIKE 3 WEEKS AGO.... I WILL BE UPDATING PICTURES AS MORE MODS GET INSTALLED.....

STOCK AS CAN GET.....

FRONT BUMPER WAS CHANGED, I HAVE NO IDEA WHY??? IF ANY ONE IS SELLING THE ORIGINAL ONE LMK......

THEN WENT TO VATO-ZONE AND PURCHASED 2 MATCHING RED FILTERS....

WENT TO THE LOCAL MUFFER SHOP AND GOT A MAGNAFLOW EXHAUST INSTALLED........

HKS LOWERING SPRINGS WENT ON THE RIDE...... DIDNT LIKE THE DROP, WAS TOO LITTLE, SO WE CUT 1 COIL FROM EACH SPRING AND MODIFIED THE BUMP STOPS..... RIDES BAD ASS.....

INSTALLED A PURPLE VALVE COVER PURCHASED OFF SPICEYORANGE, AS WELL AS A CHIPPED ECU AND MAZDASPEED SHORT SHIFTER...... ECU>>>> http://www.msprotege.com/vbb222/show...hp?t=123746537

WELL BEFORE IT WAS POSTED ON HERE ABOUT THE INTAKE I HAD READ ABOUT IT LIKE 2 DAYS AGO ON THERE.... WHEN THE MP5 FIRST CAME OUT I OWNED ONE AND DID THE EXACT SAME THING.... NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER.... BUT I READ THAT IT AFFCTS THE CARS PERFORMANCE, SO IM NOT GONNA ARGUE WITH THAT KNOWING THAT YOU ALL PROBABLY KNOW MORE THAN ME ABOUT TESE CARS....

WELL WENT DOWN TO THE LOCAL AUTO-ZONE AND PICKED UP A PEICE OF INTAKE PIPING AND A RED COUPLER.... THE PIPING WAS CHROME AND DIDNT LIKE THAT SO I JUST WALK NEXT DOOR TO THE FAMILY DOLLAR AND PURCHASED SOME BLACK SPRAY PAINT AND SOME SAND PAPER TO SAND THE CHROME OFF IT A BIT....

THE LIL SENSOR, I JUST SIMPLY STUCK IT INTO THE INTAKE TILL I CAN FIND A DRILL TO MAKE A LIL WHOLE FOR IT TO GO INTO.....

It has been probably been in a wreck. That is a sedan front bumper. And your grille is busted, or just missing the upper part.


that one filter is a bad idea...

You are also missing one of the best HP/$$ mod on you list of things to do.

I hate that front bumper! That should be your next mod for sure. What do you mean by chipped ECU? MP3 I assume.

it's also missing the battery hold down...Better get one before you start tossing it around some turns.

Wow so now you're the second p5 in the austin area with that front bumper. Everthing else looks good though. There's a yellow one I see a lot with that bumper that's an eyesore to look at.

You might want to check ebay for the bumper. I was looking for one before I bought my front lip, and all I found were protege5 bumpers.

You must be in south austin because I have seen that exact car driving down slaughter several times. I did a double take the first time I saw it because the sedans didn't come in yellow unless it's an MP3, then saw it was a P5. I think it had the sedan headlights, too.

And emilio, the car looks great man. I bet it's much quicker than it was when you got it.

• "the protege does not have a serviceable fuel filter, it only has the in tank fuel sock. And that does not need to be replaced (unless you have been pouring sand and mud into your gas tank)"

No it has never been in a wreck...... Talked to the first owner and he said his wife had the original front bumper all messed up so before he sold it he got it fixed, but he says they probably misunderstood him at the body shop and didnt here the 5 after protege.......

Im gonna check out that mod and see what i can doo........

i also asked the same question at auto-zone and they said that these cars dont have one, or that itsin the gas tank.....

it has one that clamps to the bottom of the battery...... Or the bottom side of the battery.....

You have the option of using aftermarket foglights in the p5 bumper though. It took me long as hell just to find the sedan fog kit somewhere for a good deal.

Looks like a "pre-facelift" euro version with the sedan bumper. Get the trim piece for the top of the grill. Header would be the HP mod they were mentioning. CAPS ARE SCARY!!! And that muffler looks very familiar...........

i want to add the piaa rally lights with the white covers on them.... Ill search for them when i order the bumper....
