yeah the trans is not in the way for the front or rear subframe... removing it will just give u room if u are on your back.. but not nesecary.
 
its more that if I jack up the front to put it on stands then the trans (being that its unbolted from the mount) would sag and could cause issues....
 
Just put a solid jack / jack stand under it w/ a short length of 2x4 or something.
 
There is a scissor jack under there now. The problem is that whenever he goes to put it in the air to remove the front subframe the trans is going to drop and put stress on the trans mount. Just don't want to see him have to buy a trans mount if he doesn't have to.
 
honestly I would replace that lower trans mount anyways.. those are normally on the edge of being junk..

if the trans is hanging a bit it will not wreck a good trans mount..
