Problem with my P5, help please!

Hey guys,
I've been having problems with my P5 lately. Every time I let the car rest for at least 4 hours and turn the car on, and put the gear on drive, it takes at least 1 minute to pick up the gear. This is extremely annoying. When it decides to pick up the drive gear, the car slams as if I accelerated and finally drives normally. What can this be? Is it the engine or transmission? What else can it be other than those two? Please comment on how to fix this dilemma before it gets worse!

ahm, I went to my mechanic and I asked him if he can change the transmission oil and he refused to because he was scared that the whole tranny will get messed up. It left with questioning why. I really appreciate your input, thanks! I am going to change the transmission oil, and perhaps change it as well .

The reason he balked at changing it is, if it has a lot of miles without ever being flushed, sometimes the new oil will be so slippery nothing will work anymore. It can be risky, but if it's dying anyway, you might as well try it.

If you get a new tranny, flush it according to the schedule.

<< work at a shop if your car has over 100K no one will flush the tanny only reason is if the tanny oil burned up and you put new oil in it the resk of it blowing all the seals is very likely .. sry but there is one on ebay for 350 + shiping
