Problem with my Black paint

I have a new 2010 Mazda CX-9, Grand touring. I took it back to the dealer because the left rear side has what appears to be peeling paint under the clear coat. The dealer blames it on Penn Dot, and says a solvent they use on bridges causes this. It is "under" the clear coat. It is only in one area of the vehilce, but multiple spots. Has this happened to anyone else? I love my car, but am very disappointed.

No, this is just a you issue. If your clearcoat has not peeled, then their arguement is invalid and should be covered under warranty. If they refuse, then complain to Mazda corporate, if they still refuse, you'lle have to file an insurance claim (subject to deductible and rate hike even for not at fault loss) so you would have to determine if making a claim makes sense for you.

I would talk with Mazda Coporate, or maybe try another dealership if you have one around.

Thats interesting. I would say the dealership is pretty shotty. I bought my 08 CPO vehicle in San Diego, and didnt like a couple of scratches on the vehicle. No problem. Affected areas are going to be repainted next week.

Chances are a repair was made to the car at the depot or at the dealer before you got it. It should be repaired for free. call Corporate and email them some digital pictures.
