Pricing opinion

The True Market Value price for a Mazda3s with automatic transmission is $17383 at edmunds.com. The target price at carsdirect.com for the same car is $16665. What, in your opinion, is the best price I can get for this in the Tennessee/Kentucky area?

I'm looking to get a 5-speed 4-door 3s with the sport package, and two dealerships here in San Diego have quoted me at $500 above the invoice.

Invoice at edmunds for the exact model i want is $16276, so i'm looking at $16776 for the car... how much lower do you think I can maybe talk them down to?

well stealth if u have two dealers with your car let them know, thast how i buy all my cars. i find out who has the car and then i go to dealer to dealer seeing who will give me the best price. go to the second dealer and tell them dealer a is offering it to you for 300$ over invoice and see if they want your business. chances are they will at the minum match the offer, get it in writing then go to dealer a. and back and forth till the price comes down as much as it can. and include tax and title into the mix. tell them u want their lowest price out the door. including tax and title etc.

Check Invoice with your bank , then a little over , make them give you free oil changes !!!

Go to edmunds.com or kbb.com and build your car and write down the invoice. Keep in mind that dealerships are paid between 2-3% of the MSRP. This is called a Dealer Holdback which is also negotiable. Today I helped my little bro buy a Dodge Hemi for $500 below invoice plus he got the $3000 rebates. So basically he picked up a $24,000 truck for $17,800!!!

You have to know how to negotiate. Just tell them you want it at $500 below invoice and work from there. I wouldn't pay anymore than $200 over in voice for the 3.

I just got back from my local dealership and they have a bunch of Mazda 3's in stock. I must say, I liked them and I'm leaning towards the 5 Door 3 S. Not sure if I want the manual or the manumatic though!

hmm wow.. so i can negotiate it down to around $200 over invoice?

went to the El Cajon dealership today and they quoted me at $16987 for a 4-door S in manual with the sports package. It was about what edmunds said most people are paying, so i guess it's still a fair price.. but if i can get it for a few hundred less, i'll have to try to negotiate.
