preliminary pics of Perfworks setup

Even if its not $3000, it will most likely still be extremely reasonable. And this competitions is great for prices amongst other turbo companies on the protege market ;).

thanks razz. hope to meet up with you soon.

Yeah Perf no doubt! Pretty soon I will be heading to NYC to see my boyz to do some turbo stuff. On the way back I could meet up with you as I drive through NJ. I can show off my RPMNYC / SPOOL kit :D ! Then you can show off yours! I would really like to check out the kit in detail. I have done my share of R&D with my shop in NYC. Your kit shows me that you are on the same R&D path that we have been on in the past. Big turbos / high boost!! Great FUN! :D

Great to see the system on an auto. It gives me hope too. I've heard they don't recommend anything over 4.5psi for the tranny in an auto. Any concerns with this? This system is looking real good, looking for that final price though.

Btw the price is around 3000 for the kit +labor for the install.

Heh I went back and re-read the thread, and it wasn't all my fault about this 3 grand thing! I still want to know if i can get the kit for 3 and so it myself ;)
just kidding.

But now for a real question.
You use FM's manifold right? but with that 3 inch downpipe, I lose my first cat, correct? So therefore passing emmisions is unfeasable?
My biggest concern is emmisions since the car is still going to be my daily driver, and i need reliability, along with being able to run higher boost than a FMU will allow me to do.

my set up still retains a high flow cat . the o2 sensor after the cat and no check engine lights. she will pass with flyn colors:D
thats what tuning with the piggyback does. she makes the system efficient for boost and off boost

perfworks... here's a question... do you sleep? :p
about three hours a day.
i spend about two hours on line taking care of emails and research that i do thru various sites for info on up in coming technology.
Gotta stay ahead man:D

your the man nick. Your set up is sick. Cant wait to see what you have to offer in the future.

So you have 1 highflow cat, and the second cat still intact for a total of 2 cats?
I can picture this in my mind because you use that manifold, but the downpipe confuses me...
Do i have this correct in my stupid, tired mind?
Maybe i should just go to bed, and ponder this all later...

the downpipe goes to a flex joint under the vehicle to the back where the resonator used to be. there we have 1 high flow 3" cat and then it goes over the rear subframe axle to the muffler .

Ahhh ok. So 1 cat, and its the piggyback unit that will allow me to tune it, and pass emissions.

yes the piggyback and your stock ecu work together to achieve the right A/F mixture across the entire rpm band, with optimal timing

Let me know on Micahs auto. Ive now been told twice the 4.5psi in an auto trany is not good. I like the look of the system and the parts but I am concerned on that note.

man perf I've been looking but cant find. What size is the turbo ON YOUR car. It's figgin huge. like a damn T-66

keyser,

the kit that will go on micah's car will be a stage I
it will run 5 PSI daily. it has the potential for 8 psi max for auto matic and 9-10 for manual.
the stock transmission can handle upwards of 200 foot LBS of torque. That is close to 7.5-9 psi boost pressure.
Again driving habits kill driveline internals 90% of the time.
this will be proven in about three weeks or less once the kit is done and dynoed

Others may not be confident in there kit but this is the best product on the market.

we have three we are going to try. the one on the vehicle now is a T3TO4E
she will support upwards of 550hp for the 2.0
when the new tranny is done we will put the extra 4 injectors on and run 25-27psi. she will use a new intake manifold and be close to 525 HP

the autos well the shiftronics autos can go up to 340 lbs of torque. again, perf is right, its about hey way you drive. i will be running 8-10 daily, i will let you know whats up with the tranny. i have a lead foot. ;)

Might sound like a dumb question but would the Stage 1 be intercooled? Myself, I was looking at staying at about 5psi which I figure would get me in at about 175-185whp, correct? I most likely would want something very similar to Micah. Looks like he and I are in the same situation. You sound very confident in your product which is great! Also, PM me your #, i'd like to discuss your system in more detail.
