ppl with the hks bov

ok ive had it installed for about 2 weeks now... im not sure if this is normal or not but it does drive fine... when im at half wot or wot the intake sounds like its inhaling... and when i let go of gas it does its sound... just want to know if the loud inhaling sound is normal... also its in recirc mode.. trying to figure out if i have a boost leak or not

my hks started leaking like crazy, same sounds if I recall

under idle conditions put your hand around it, if you feel air coming out of it then your diaphragm went bad (from what HKS told me)

pissed me off a bit....I spent almost 300 for mine =(

well truthfully i dont think my bov is what leaking, i actually think my intercooler tubes are what causing it if it is a leak... just trying to figure out what the bov true sounds are... my old gti 1.8t had an intercooler hose totally pop off and it kinda sounded like that same sound but 10x louder and no boost... but ill check what you say to make sure but what part of the bov did you exactly put ure hand over... the recirc pipe or the actual bov... any one else have a inhaling sound while wot or so?

theres the fancy looking decorative piece that slides over top of the recirc area and covers most of the body of it....it was leaking from underneath that in all directions

I have the hks vta setup and it makes the sounds you describe. I thought mine was doing something wierd too so I put the stock bpv on and it was still there. Its just the cold air intake on mine thats so noisy. Gets on my nerves a little at times.

^^^^^^I have the same noise. Going to have to agree, its the Intake. I dont feel a leak coming out of the blowoff at all.
Sounds pretty wicked tho.

ya i dont have a leak thru the bov at all... it is kinda noisy... and also for you ppl with the hks did you put on that little filter thingy on the tiny hose (sorry for not using the right word, dont know wut it is) because i wanna know if i take that out will there be a problem bcuz i wanna tap my bov onto it... i also gotta check my intercooler tubes because the top one isnt fully on, still has some room to go on but its on tight, happened when i changed to ets... thats what i thought the sound was coming from

yea its the intake, the throtle plate opening and sucking in air. i put the filter thing on the air line going to my bosot gauge, i think its jsut for dirt and stuff so the gauge wont get messed up.
