I want to keep my factory radio on the Mazda3, but I want to add some nice bass, nothing crazy, but something to bump. Can I get a powered sub and just connect it somehow to the facory headunit.
benzo said:I dont think I would go this route. I think you best bet would be a amp and sub setup with quick disconnects. Or if you are still stuck on the idea...how about this----->http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7Obzq1...W1&search=compact+car+audio+powered+subwoofer

I'll go to a shop soon and see how much this would cost me.
I like the factory radio, and I don't want to replace this time around.
Hey,Kosh said:The LoC will change your speaker output wires to RCA Composite, that is what goes into the amp. You need an amp kit also which is all your wires for the connections. This includes main power supply lines from the battery to the amp, a line from the H/U to the amp that turns the amp on when the H/U is turned on, your RCA composite wires, '+' and '-' lines from the amp to your sub, and the amp grounding wires. Hope I didn't leave anything out.
I pretty much asked the same questions you are asking about 3 days earlier so check here http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123663618&page=2 for some fresh info.
