Hello all,
I am a newbie to this forum, so hope this is the right place for this question.
I own a 2013 Mazda CX-5, with a low milage (26K) that just got out of the official Mazda dealership for its periodic service 10 days ago.
A couple of days ago, my wife turned the engine on, and reported that the car was non responsive:
- Power steering malfunction indicator light was on
- Break pedal was stuck
- Gas pedal was non responsive
- When she released the hand break, the car simply slid back
She switched the engine off and on again, but the light was still on. She turned it off and on again, and everything was normal.
Since then everything seems okay, however I am concerned this could happen again - no steering, no breaks... Pretty scary. According the Mazda's User Manual, if the power steering wheel light is turned off after re-ignition, nothing needs to be done (i.e. they recommend to only get service if the light stays on).
Any idea what might be wrong? Should I just follow Mazda's recommendation on this? Doesn't sound right...
Thanks!
