Wide Open Throttle

Oh... I'm at wide open throttle most of the time. So maybe check the fuel pump... is there any way to see if it's weakening so I don't buy one if I dont need it?

Starting on page 01-14-14 of the engine section of the service manual under fuel pump removal/installation it references testing fuel pump max pressure & hold pressures. There is a bit about how to do that as well. Looks to involve a jumper wire & fuel pressure gauge. There's an online manual at http://protege5.ugly.net/

what are the symptoms of a bad fuel pump? flow test, but what would you see/feel as you drive?(uhm)
