Power loss to wheels?

Okay, so when I dyno'd my car, I put down 249hp/ 271 lb/ft of torque on my best run (no downpipe, Stage 2 tune). What kind of power loss am I seeing from the flywheel to the wheels? I was told around 25% or so lost. Is there a more accurate number out there?

you may not get a respone until blendercloud, bova, tunersteve or the guy w/ the clean, black speed6 w/ the custom fmic (boostedspeed or something, the guy that's in the running for car of the month, ya' know, the guy that should have won it last month) are awake. i know for sure they will have an answer.

you could just add more corksport stickers to make up for the loss though.(drunk)

There's no way you lost 25% of drivetrain loss. That would put you at 335 Flywheel hp. These car's tend to lose about 17-19% of drivetrain loss! With you're mod's you're more close to around 290-300 flywheel hp give or take a few!!

25% of drivetrain loss is alot of power to be losing! if you were stock you would be losing about 69hp.

274-69=205hp
69/274=25% drive train loss

IMPOSSIBLE

A 25% parasitic loss of power would be closer to what you would see in older American muscle cars. The increased loss is due to heavier, less-engineered driveline components.

It appears that you're stock all the way back. With that said I think that an estimate of 20% is more in-line. The MS3 guys are usually fortunate enough to see 17%. But we're fortunate to not have to deal with torque steer! :)

Stock all the way back? I have a full turbo back, full intake, and I'm Stage 2+ right now. Are you talking about the actual drive train?

how much help would the tranny mount do? minimal? other than the mount, what else can he do to get the power to the wheels?

Engine, transmission, rear differential mounts all help, but they are not a "holy crap I'm making 10% more power at the wheels" kind of help. A lighter tire/wheel combination will also help. A lightweight flywheel is probably the most bang for the buck. All in all, the overall design of the car is relatively unchangeable. Just keep up with the maintenance on those moving parts (tranny, differentials, CV joints, etc) and you'll be doing better than most.

I've even seen people go as far as titanium driveshafts and axels. Granted, those things will help, but are ridiculously expensive for their benefit.

like belendercloud said..invest in some mounts for ur car and a lighter set of wheels for less rotational mass!! with just the rear MM it improves how the car feels..but u add the TT front motor mount and start getting into the diff and tranny mounts and youll notice a real difference in power gain, mainly because the drivetrain isnt sloshing around..im pm'd u as well.

Just curious why you are running a stage 2 map with no downpipe or test pipe?

i have a custom 3 inch turbo back exhaust...

edit: fixed my sig so there's no more confusion, thats not the first time someone asked me that question

Yeah, but I had a race pipe and a cat back exhaust. I asked on here if I would be okay with that and everyone said yes. I'm running Stage 2+ now with the downpipe and a TMIC

How's the downpipe and TMIC combo going for you. You notice a drastically big difference in power

Dude, it's like night and freaking day. I love it!

I really need to dyno it again. Need to get a custom tune and fuel pump internals, first, though! :D

That's awesome, Sounds like fun!

I bet with the fuel pump/DP/TMIC/Tune you will net another 30/40+ to the wheels. No doubt!
