power loss/loud sucking noise... help???

WOW. i am having some issues also. I get the swooshing vacuum leak sound (i know it too well) but i checked all of my normal leaky spots and they are all tight. i have hard pipes and everything checks out fine. i have a boost science bpv and that seems to be ok. i get very little boost pressure 3.5 psi avg and no power really. No more turkey sound like i usually get ... i will check the wga in a minute but if thats not it i am stumped also. i have 65k miles on my car so no more warrenty and i have done all the work myself, feel confident with my ability to work on the car but trouble shooting this is a PITA !!! Its suppose to rain tomarrow so i am stuck driving the car to work, my rx7 is dead and with the rain i am not riding my motorcycle... sigh. why now.

well wga is fine. back to the drawing board. my BPV threading on the side the hose from the hot pipe goes to was loose so i tightened it. i hope that fixes it.

How exactly did you check the wga... cause that sure is what it sounds like or just a major boost leak. But then you would most likely have idle problems too!

To check your WGA just blow into your vacuum line that is hooked up to the waste gate. If you can blow any air paste the diaphram then you have a bad WGA. I just fixed my idle issues. I found a missing plug on the bottom side of the SMIC.

i blew into the hose and its fine. i couldn't get any air thru it. The car idles just fine. I did notice what looks to be a small hole on one of the couplers that connect my hard pipes, it could be just the mark left from the mold too, they are cheaper couplers compared to some others i have seen. i need to inspect it more tomarrow. low rpm driving is fine but when i gun it the car makes a sound as if it has a air leak somewere and no turkey, no power, low boost, ...

If you have low boost and no turkey it is definitely a boost leak. Best thing to do is to spray the area with soapy water and look for bubbles when you give it gas.

It won't make bubbles because you won't come out of vac without a load on the engine!

It will come out of vacuum enough to make bubbles if you rev your engine up. Your not going to get any boost but you will have positive air flow.
