Power diff between North American and Japanese MX5's?

Hey there!

Just joined the forum and was wondering if somone could let me know what HP and Torque figure differences there are - if any - between NA gen MX5's supplied to the North American market and there Japanese counterparts?

From what I've gathered here and there, the Japanese 1.6L produced about 120 HP whereas the 94-95 1.8L produced 130HP (116HP and 128HP respectively for the US models). Torque outputs are about the same +/-.

The engines for both markets are identical. The computers and/or emissions bits dictate the variences in the power outputs.

the gas is different and the ecu is different which makes figures slightly different.
