Power Blips at 3K RPM???

Hey guys!

Ok I have been meaning to ask this for a while now... its hard to explain so its even hard to search for on the thread here... it seams as if you keep constant pressure on the gas at like 3K RPM in 3rd or 4th gear mostly, that the car has a slight blip in power from time to time... and kind of hesitates... :( I have tried watching the Tac but i dont see a dip when it does it, it almost seams like its a power "blip" of some sort?? I was thinking that the grounding kits that i see up here so offten might solve the problem... i dont think anything is wrong with the car its just kind of anoying... So im looking to you guys for some help with resolving this annoyance! thanks fellow P5ers! :D
 
i get that exact same problem. it doesn't happen too often though. i seem to think it happens in 2nd and 3rd gear though.
 
Second yeah... it seams it happens in all as long as you have constent pressure on the gas, keeping the RPM at one level... Thats when i notice it.
 
Definatly, come to think about it i really do think its a grounding issue, bucause i have neons under the dash, and when it happens they dim quickly... I think the grounding kit would be a good start in trying to fix this annoyance... any thoughs from the people with the grounding kits installed???
 
humm... I'm gonna have to try that out.

I guess I don't remember experiencing that - probably since when I shift into 3rd I'm already at 5000rpm in 2nd :D
 
Yeah..I have felt it also...Happens to me..When i accelerate at WOT going into third at about 3-4k....Even when i changed to the Mp3 Ecu..I still Feel It but only when i am hard on the gas..Or the AC is on..

My LX does the same thing. I usually notice it WOT. I was going to try the Sparco plug wires to see if that helps. Has anyone tried this?
 
WOT= wide open throttle.

sounds like the issue is just the radiator fan kicking in. which would make sense as most people feel it more when using the AC because there is more load on the engine when the AC is on so it kicks in the fan more. the fan is electrically operated so you may notice lights dimming or neons dimming when it kicks in.

and now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

Makes sense UClap5.... which is why i think if I put the grounding kit in to better ground the car i think that would help... kinda smooth things out....
 
I have noticed that many people who have SRI (Short Ram Intake) Have this problem...Makes sense...hot air..will not gain you more hp..infact you lose..

Good theory except that I don't have an SRI.(scratch) I have seen other treads talking about the mixture running to rich.
 
I dont think it has anything to do with intakes... cause i noticed it before i even put on the Injen CAI... I still definatly think that its power related...
