hey guys hows it goin. right now i have a msp and i was seriously looking into picking up that sick ms3. i've seen now that some of you guys had it for a little while now and i was wondering what you guys thought of it. also i remembered reading somewhere that there is an intake/exhaust package that adds around 40 hp and is covered under warranty? anyone knows how much the dealer is charging for this package? thanks for any/all info you have on this.

I have no info on the intake other than the sales guy says theres one available as well as a Mazdaspeed BOV....we'll see.

I test drove a ms3 last night....and well coming from the MSP.....I can say that the 3 is far superior. IMO Mazda actually put some thought into this car rather than scrapping some things together at the last minute. Ride is MUCH SMOOOOOTHER, shifting is like butter once you readjust to the clutch. steering feel is heavy, but very responsive. IMO the only thing that would make this car any more fun to drive would be some wider tires, stock is 215s but there's room for 225 maybe even 235's.
I'm 6'3" ish and my g/f sat behind me with plenty of room, so the backseat is managable.

here's the review of the testdrive.

Complaints (minor):
Cannot hear the turbo, intake would fix that,
and the shifter is not as low as the MSP, but nothing near like the flagpole in the SRT-4's.

What he said in both posts. (cabpatch) First I've heard about a MS BOV. Maybe that'll be my first baby step into modding.

Ive heard about the cold-air, havnt heard anything about an upgraded exhaust or BOV, but I have heard of coil-over system and lightweight 6-spoke wheels. If mazda installs these official mazda accessories, they should be covered by warranty. I'm not sure how this works for those with ms6 cold air, but I would think it'd be covered.

I have seen these coilovers in person on a base 3 hatch the dealer had dropped to about 1" of ground clearance. I don't know how much adjustability (dampening...etc) but they are nice pices.

wow, 1" of clearance? badass! If they're adjustable, thats a seriously nice piece...

yeah to my knowledge any coilover is adjustable. Anyways, I looked @ them b4 my cuz and his g/f testdrove the 3 with a whole lot of MS parts thrown at it. The shock/struts are a SS finish, and IIRC had adjustments for camber.
