Alot of us haven't found a use for that center vent. Some use it to warm the shifter knob. Another place us non speed 6ers placed the pod was the center of the dash where navi would go. there is a 3 gauge pod floating around for the mazda 6. second I find a local vender I'll share the info :) (Pict Borrowed from blackmajic)

What did you do to block off the air from teh back of the gauge? how did you route the wire, down through the ducting?

I love this idea but...do you have a how to that you could post to the "How To.." section on the install?? I don't know the first thing about adding a boost gauge so a how to would be great.

Yeah, that looks pretty good, do you have any daytime shots? What kind of gauge is that? It matches pretty well.

The DEFI BF gauge matches perfect, but 200+ for the gauge and another 150 or so for the link controller is a bit too steep.

The gauge is a 45mm Omori Boost Gauge. It has a multi color back light (blue, green, red) fine tune the colors and you can match the MS6's lights....
here are some pics of different color...

Well, the air form the back stills go through where the grille holes are, I intended to do that so that I still get air from it for my back seat passengers. and the wires were easy to install and route. once you take off the center console for the head unit, you can see that there is a path that goes straight down and you can use the same route to where all the wires are right beneath your fuse box outside to your BOV ( that's for the hose that attaches to the BOV) and the rest of the wires I used the wires that connected before the head unit. I'll try to get some pics, cause I'll be adding more stuff to my car again, so once I mess with it again I'll post some "How to" pics.

I'll try to post it once I get time to mess with it again, just waiting for more parts to install and will get back to you guys on how to install.

I have been wondering what to do about this myself with this car.

In my protege I had the full pillar pod and the custom cluster for holding 5 round gauges. I added a digital EGT because I had no clean place to put another round gauge.

I love the Defi BF gauges, but the cost is prohibitive and the lack of clean places to put gauges in the 6 is a problem. This time around I am looking at a Boost gauge and maybe a wideband and EGT eventually if I do start to mod it more heavily, but everything else will likely be passed on.

With that said, the Omori is at the top of my list for it's small size and convenient mounting location. Also on my list is this handy gauge which is going to be very flexible when it comes to mounting:

I had their Digital EGT and was very happy with it. I am just not sure if I want a digital boost gauge, it's not as easy to read as a traditional dial.

You can get a round gauge and mount and mount it to the drivers side defrost vent on the dash. The vent just pops off, I zip tied mine there until I get more gauges to fille the tripple pod that goes on teh map compartment. When I finish painting the gauge cup, I'll post a pic of it.

JBSPEED6: Did you have to put a hole on the steering colume for the install?

wow that looks pretty sweet! Plus, if you were to sell the car you can just buy that little plastic door from the dealership and it's back to normal.

Those gauges match the stock ones extremely well! Nice find

Just like to show how I did mine.

BTW, they are boost, oil pressure, oil temp.

Where did you get gauges that matched the stock one's so well?? What brand and how much if you don't mind me asking?
