Post The Best Pictures of Your Mazda

i would absolutely love to do this! but the nearest place i checked quoted me $500 +tax, which is more than i paid for the wheels and tires. you know a cheaper place?

if you get them preped up yourself, and shop around, I'll bet you could get it knocked down to half that. couple days of your life and a nylon filament abrasive wheel kit and you'd be good to go. (sand blaster would be better, but I'm being cheap here)

Quickie from my new camera.

powdercoating should only cost about $200-250/set from a good shop.

+1..
The shop I use in Portland gets $50 each if you pick a color they stock. Thats if you bring the wheels in already prepped. If they do the sand / bead blasting too, they charge an extra $25 per wheel. So, $300 complete.

hmmm... i guess i just need to shop around more. i suppose i got a little turned off after that high quote from the first place i went.

OK to let everyone on PC'ing and price point...with PC the more you pay, the more mills you get...so cheaper PC is a thinner coating...probably around 4 mil, which is not that thick, when you apply it, it will lay thicker than dried, so don't let them fool you on that either...and with any HYPER colors its a 3 step PC sandwich process...WHICH is not cheap...

you can also take it to les schwabs...they now do that as well...same price $75 for basic colors...no trick colors...i just know this because they are my clients...

The shop I use won't or can't do Hyper anything... They say that has to be done in a paint booth because the second coat is transparent and the third is clear. I know cuz I asked them about re-doing two of my RH's. They directed me to a shop that does high-end restoration work on wheels from upscale cars; Corvettes, Bimmers, and such. They will do Hyper Silver or Hyper Black for about $225-$250 per wheel if you wait til they are doing a bunch of them at once. The raw paint materials come only in greater quantity and cost over $1,000 per batch, and they evidently don't keep well. So they wait til they have a "group order" and do them all at once.

pics after a detail and wax! new seats and harness bar(bar is getting painted silver). evo wing awaiting installation!
