Post Pics of your Mazda2 / Demio

:Ο)

We,at the hellenic mazda2club, are more like a company than a strict 2 owners club.We have members with all kinds of cars(swift,mr2,mx5,206,polo,rover...etc) and we just have fun all together!

When I made the comment, I assumed that the dealer did this. Redkills, I'm not sure how it is on the west coast, but here in MD the plates were installed by the dealer.

Yeah, the dealer installs plates here in Ontario. I noticed it and told the dealer it seemed ghetto, but he said the Ontario plates don't fit into the screws behind the cover plate. I've heard you can buy some kind of adapter for the front, but its $75.00 which is ridiculous for a piece of plastic. In all honesty, on every vehicle I've owned the front plates are screwed into the front bumper, although, there are usually plastic pieces meant specifically for the screws. I think as good as a front plate can look on a car.

I also noticed that the rear plate is just screwed into the plastic fascia (similar to the front). Is that normal?

I would have thought here would have been something a little more official for mounting the front and rear license plates without having to buy an accessory. But at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter.

Here's a front plate kit.

A bit spendy. Here;s what it looks like on a Black M2

I don't know of any rear ones.

Edit: The kit also comes with 2 black stubs to plug up the ugly drill holes. Major plus.

If the they are going to drill holes, why not drill under the insert instead of ruining the insert? I guess that's what I'm getting at. The plates don't fit because the threaded holes are for the over-priced adapter. But in the states, they drilled holes in the plastic UNDER the insert... instead of directly on it.

My ride is the black one. :)

Question. Why does the blue one have a different bumper? (like the US bumper) or have you and your white 2 friend changed bumpers? If so, which bumper is that? Looks like the SEMA car!

black and white are top of the line 1.5l hatches.
black is slammed with maxspeed springs
white has an add-on accessory (MIYO mazda body graphics), carbon fiber hood, and dropped with eibach springs
blue is a 1.5l sedan which has the same bumper as the base variant 1.3l hatch and sedan

I feel like the U.S. got jipped and I'm kinda pissed about it lol. That "base" bumper w/foglights is our touring bumper. And we didn't have the [factory] option of sideskirts, HID headlights, etc.

Why are the amber corners gone out of those headlights? Is the stupid amber reflector on ours here a U.S. thing too? :( :disappointed:

We ALWAYS get jipped

Yeah the US DOT requires an amber reflector in front of the front tires. The rest of the world doesn't have that restriction. I'm just happy the 2 finally made it to the US. We could have gotten really jipped and not gotten the car at all

sadly, yes! funny thing is, here in the philippines, we (car enthusiasts in general) amber our corners so that we wont look like everybody else! LOL! was thinking of doing that too but decided not to as there are no amber lenses around the car to match them + it would require opening the housings and spraypainting them amber so scratch that! would swapping your US headlights with the clear ones be illegal and be issued a ticket?

Wouldn't be an issue here in West Virginia, inspections are very lax. Plus I have Euro spec tails and corners on my Probe GT and nobody is the wiser.

I doubt it would be an issue. Last time I was in the Philippines I really didn't see much of a difference in the headlights. They're aimed the same, and we drive on the same side of the road as you guys.

Most of the time it's never enforced so swapping headlights wouldn't be a problem. I'd actually consider swapping the amber corner with the clear one in the OEM projectors if I ever got a set. It would be different than others and I personally like the amber. I'd actually love to find an amber side repeater for the fenders
