Possible safety hazard for the 5-door?

OK guys don't freak out or anything, it's just a minor thing but possibly hazardous. For those of you with the hatchbacks, have you hit your head on that "shelf" thing that's connected to the back of the hatch and the front portion lifts up with the door? I hit my head on it recently just digging into the back of my hatch to get some tools out and I cut my forehead right above the eyebrow. Was a pretty nasty, deep cut. Anyways I look at the shelf thing and run my finger along the outer edge (the part that lifts up) and that junk is frickin sharp as hell. I was just wondering if anyone else has been cut or nearly cut, or if it was just b/c I'm a big clumsy buffoon (freak)
(I'm 6"6ish, so pretty tall). I'm thinking about bringing this up with my mazda dealer, but I don't really feel like doing it if I'm the only person that's done it......
Anyways fill me in on your opinions.

P.S. sorry if I made anyone panic (like thinking your car is gonna blow up or something)

Yeah, I bashed the back of my head on that thing, I thought I was going to loose a chunk of hair. It F...ing hurt. No blood though.

Haven't had the slightest problem. 5'10" tall.

My cargo cover has resided in my closest ever since I brought it home from the dealer. I have no use for it, and you can't see what's in there through my 20% tint.

The one on the Protege5 is just as bad. I have been thinking of getting that black door edge cover stuff at the car parts place. It is that strip you put on the door to prevent scratching the paint if you open a door into another car.

another thing about the cargo cover is if your goin 115+ it starts to lift up when the windows are opened.

sayin'
