Position for Front center jack?

I rotated my tires tonight, and couldnt tell where to put the floor jack on the front end. The surfaces I could see without having it raised were (from font back) the bumper, a plastic cover, and a large relatively-flat metal surface that looked suspiciously like a pan (possibly transmission). None of these surfaces looked good for jack placement, and nothing back of that looked any better.

I ended up lifting one side at a time, but this is a big pain. Where is the correct center-front jack location?

from the european version of the factory manual. I'm still looking for the US version.

That looks a lot like the area I thought was a pan. It was hard to see without having the vehicle raised.

Used this illustration to position the floor jack on my 5 this afternoon.

And with me carefully watching for bendy-looking metal at any point.

Worked like a charm.
