Poppng Noise

I own a mazda 6 i 4cly. Iv had it for about a year and a half. Short ram intake and exaust. Nothing done to the suspention or wheels or brakes. There is a loud popping sound coming from my left rear tire area (or it atleast sounds like it) It only does it when i turn left and the noise goes away after i straighten the car out. The faster i go the louder the sound becomes. What could this possibly be?

Wheel bearing? Although that's usually more of a grinding noise...but it will increase with speed.
