POLL: Former Protege owners?

Just gauging who all here among current Mazdaspeed3 owners came from a Protege at one point in time. I used to own a 2003 Mazda Protege LX 5-speed in Sunlight Silver. Very little power, but it was small, light and rotated very well.

None (owned an '02 WRX) - me and my my wife do own an '02 Protege LX, however, and my best friend owned a Protege MP3 for a few years.

I WANT a Speed3, does that count? I currently own a '02 Protege5 and if all goes well I will be picking up a used Speed3 at the end of the summer. I've driven one before, so it has to count! :-}

I came from the bastard cousin of the 3, the Focus. I owned two before moving into the MS3.

Had a titanium msp before. Still miss the handling and stock sound system. But speed 3 is a superior machine in almost every way.

I had a 2001 LX 2.0. Bought it used in 2004. Great car, reliable, cheap to own. It sure had fewer rattles than the MS3, and the interior wasn't so prone to scratches, fingerprints and other cosmetic blemishes that seem to pop up out of nowhere in my MS3.

Came from a 2003 ES 5-speed. Did a lot of work to it, now owned by another member on the forums (MikeLikesMazda). Loved the handling, hated the power of it.

I was slated to originally get an MSP, but the dealer sold it before I had put a deposit on it, and wasn't getting any more of them. My dad and I (I was 18 at the time) didn't want to wait, so I got the ES instead.

Looking at old pictures from local meets, it used to be all Proteges for the most part. Now, you would be luck to find one at a local meet since they are being dominated now by the MS3.
