Its fun flogging the little 2 liter. And yes, it has enough power to get you to dangerous speeds. Anything these days does. But if your in an area with a lot of elevation changes the lower power shows it self often.

I'm not going to win many races, but I knew that going into it. I have been quite surprised at its grade-pulling capability. I am able to maintain 60 mph in 4th on grades that would have my Escape V6 screaming in 2nd at the same speed. The Mazda may be down on horsepower compared to the Escape, but it is also down on weight.

I'm just glad a majority of owners are happy. I want this car to do well for mazda.

By all accounts, the CX-5 has been quite successful for them.

The one they are really counting on is the new 6. If it has the makings of the CX-5, I don't see why it will not also been enormously popular. I am chomping at the bit here, waiting for them to come stateside.

Yes, CX-5 is now the best-selling SUV/crossover in Mazda lineup, well-placed in the fast growing compact SUV/crossover market.

The new 6 needs to get sales traction to revive 6 sales.

Real percentage happy with the 2.0 is 85%, there are some good points made here.

Thanks

And 80-85% is what sales rate/% will be for standard 2.0L in US market after optional engines are made available.

Yep, after reading the "professional" reviews that said the car was under powered I was quite surprised with the "get up and go" I experienced on the test drive. Now that I've owned the car for a few thousand mile, I'm surprised the "professional" reviewers were calling it out for being under powered! It's rare to need more acceleration than the 2L gas engine can deliver. And I'm loving the way it sips fuel. Maybe I'll regret having "only" 155hp when I enter the next road race... Oh, wait, that's not what I use this car for.

I was drafting a Chevy equinox on the highway this morning at about 80mph and getting 32mpg. I had to slow down when I overtook that car because I realized I was doing 90! I was in 6th gear the whole time so yeah, there's certainly enough power for a commuter car. Then again, I live in Florida where the elevation is zero, so YMMV.

the new 6 looks pretty slick. I heard the Mazda sales guy call it the batman car... and when i see it... it does kinda look like the batmobile... if i liked driving big cars, i'd get one, but i don't. ;p smaller cars are easier to park! Yes, I live in the city.

No issues with the 2.0G for me, just happiness when I fill up.
