Wow, dj vu!!
I got the same stop, same questions, same stupid reason (no front plate & tinted windows). He then proceeded to walk around the car like 5 times while yelling out all the modifications he could see (never saying any were illegal by the way), and speculated what was under the hood but never made me open it. I think once he figured out that with my Alaska plates and military ID, he was waaaaay out of his jurisdiction.... like 3 states and a country out! LOL
BTW, I told him that the car is for AutoX and that street racing is teh ghey... he looked confused (drive)

The only reason I see for a INTAKE FILTER to be illegal is that the Californian governement wants to give more tickets to raise it's incomes... there is no freakin scientific explainatation for a Filter to affect the environnement.

IF YOU HERE THE END FROMT HE REFEREE, its alot a smog thing, he said the will look to see fi legal, if it has a carb number, than means the compney paid the hefty price to say its legal here and can be on, if it compies with smog then you can run it. so if it is, it will have a carb number or ewhat not. but depends ont he cops, soem have fully built cars them selves, and are just nivce, some are just jerks, i have been pulled over for exaust 2 times, the first time the cop tols me we dont carry db readewrs so we really cant give you a ticekt, aND WHEN I gt pulled over and ask what the law is no one can answer!

What I love is they assume everyone is ONLY street racing. What about those of us who are responsible and keep it at the track? Modifying cars is an increasingly growing hobby, which helps keep kids out of trouble. This is also where our best mechanics come from. Like Mark (Bazooka Joe) always says, it's just another reason for them to get you pulled over and search the car(and make some $$$ in the process). Our govt really pisses me off...
