Po705 code check engine light

2003 Protege ES Automatic trans. CEL light activated code Po705 Transmission range sensor circuit . Found that the neutral saftey switch is the same thing. Easy fix located on front of trans. Symptoms I had trans seemed to lag between 3rd & 4th CEL light came on couple days later and then the AT light while driving and wouldn't shift right like hunting didn't know what gear it was in .

Usually when the neutral safety switch fails, the car won't start without placing its shifter into the neutral position (instead of the Park position). Your situation is the first I've seen with those symptoms. Thanks for sharing.

Took switch apart found several contacts not like you would think just neutral & park. Believe it also tells the ecm which gear your in as it showed two different at the same time on dash indicator lights.
