The code is exhaust gas reciculation flow insufficient or something like that. I know its got somethign to do with my egr valve. Does anyone around the south east texas area have a speed vehicle? My local dealer is giving me the run around and its really getting old and I was curious as to what anyone else has done. I also fall into the clutch tsb and my transfercase is leaking. I just got this car 2 weeks ago and I'm already not impressed at all by my dealer since they first off told me they werent "speed" certified and when Mazda told me to tell them they didnt have to be "speed" certified to work on my car and that Mazda tech line would assist them with anything they needed to fix the TSB's on my car the dealer then pitched me the line of they didnt have to tools to do the job. The run around is getting pretty old. Any idea what I can at least do to correct the PO401 CEL I've gotten twice now untill Mazda and my dealer can sort out their issuues and do yall think it will hurt the car to drive it with that CEL on? much appreciated and ill post some pics in the new members section a little later on once i get all these issus sorted out.

I betcha the EGR port into the throttle body is caked with gunk.

Get access to the inside of the intake manifold by removing the throttle body, etc. Now get yourself some long pipe cleaners (the things you'll find at a craft store). Soak the pipe cleaners in throttle body cleaner and go to town cleaning the port.

Here's a shot of black soot from the EGR port.

I woke up this morning and started the car to let it warm up before i took off and the code cleared its self, but it seems to wait about a week and it'll throw it again so ill take it apart for a good cleaning when i get a day off work, thanks guys
