91 RON is another rating system for octane used else where, and the techron in chevron is just crap..
It's like Petro Canada's winter addition.
All gas companies use pretty much the same formulation, there are standards, and deveating from them cause problems, there was a point where if you had a cavalier, you couldn't use 2 of the gas stations up here.
Just use 87, save the money, after all this is a car, not a sports car.
It is fun to drive, yes, but still a car..
I am suprised no one has asked Pete to search, or mentioned it..
Pete, these topics have been so rehashed here, that I am almost at the point of knowing other peoples gas millage..
The general concensus here is that the millage of this car isn't too good, but we overcome that problem by enjoying the drive.
btw, welcome, and remember, search is your friend (say hello to my little friend..)
Take a look @ this for more info..

BTW, I have a 200 WRMS Sub and AMP, and has made NO difference on my fuel consumption..

I'm waiting to see when the fuel gets low, how many gallons of fuel did I use.
Also, now I hear a little ping because I changed from 93 octain to 87 octain.
Should I at least use 89? I use Chevron with Techron, if you look in our manual it says 87[(R+M)/2 method] or above (91 RON or above) on page 4-2 fuel requirements..
This is for the 2002 MP5. Buy the way my car is auto. Looking at Chevron w/Techron I'm asuming this is the gasoline with RON, like stated above with the manual.
The reason I'm conducting this test is to see if there is a problem with my car. I'm trying to see if my car is consuming fuel correctly. If it's not then can any one think of what might be a problem?
Thanks everyone....
