Mazda CX 5 2.0 Manual
Please list all the known problems with the 2015/16 CX 5. I'm buying a CX 5 Sport MANUAL transmission 2.0 this week and want to know what too look for.

from my reasearch

Bluetooth and usb not connecting or playing songs

front seats bracket wobbly

hood shake and rear visor shake

trunk rattle

not going into gear smoothly

initial start noises

transmission oil leak

broken front glass (look for OEM label)

TPMS losing its memory (there is a thread on this)

Thanks

The trunk rattle, hood and mirror shake should not be an issue with 2015 and later CX-5's. Same should apply with "front seats bracket wobbly", which I'm not sure is a 'known problem'.

The only problem I have is that there's a sunroof missing/mirror shake. I'm one 1.5 years into ownership..otherwise I have none of the problems you listed.

The 16 is completely different from the 15, as far as infotainment goes.

Also have not heard of most of these.

sounds like you need to look for a different vehicle if you're expecting all those issues LOL

... oh, and if the gas tank is empty, the damn car won't start!!!

TPMS losing it's memory happens on every modern car ever made it seems like... I wouldn't classify it as a Mazda only problem. This is coming from someone who worked in a tire shop for a bit.

I'm not expecting all those issues... These are things that I have read about and would like to look out for on a test drive to avoid that particular car IF it has that issue.
There are threads on here of these issues which is why I brought it up, I just want to know what to look out for on a a test drive

thanks for the info

Only issue I'm reading about is the USB will not fully charge a phone, and the power socket is now permanently live.

Until I get the car I'm unsure but the UK version my now prevent on screen use over 5mph, my present car can be operated while driving, which I do ever time I'm in the car.
and I have noticed recently that the rear view mirror vibrates, it didn't use to.

Wow! I have a early build 2013 and I can't say it has any of those 'problems' although I have seen the hood shake if the road is just right and I'm going about 75 mph. Oh, and a cold start is louder for the first 30 seconds but that is by design. The valve timing is fully adjustable and during a cold start the exhaust valves open sooner to bring the catalytic converter up to temperature sooner. Most cars couldn't do that if they wanted to.

Transmission oil leaks? I've not heard of that one, these engines are very tight. Broken windshield, yes, that happens on all cars, nothing particular to the CX-5. Mine has taken a few hard rock hits with no damage.

Me thinks you are thinking too hard about 'problems' that have little to no basis in the real world. Most new cars would have a substantial list that was actually based in reality.

Do you mean oil drain plug leak? Which is due to improper torque/seal (user error)?

I have a 2016 Sport 2.0 Manual Transmission. I have my Android phone paired and an iPod Touch connected via USB. No problems with either.

I have not noticed any issues shifting although I wish the clutch pedal was stiffer. No hood or mirror vibration, wobbly seats, or any of the other issues you listed.

So far, so good.
