Hello AllI just changed my car battery but now my car wont start. Everything electrical works, just when I turn the key, nothing happens. Is there anything that needs to be reset or what not? Also, I took my old battery off and the car was just sitting there for about 8 hours without a car battery if that helps at all. Thanks

uhh did you correctly place the terminals on the battery ? i'm pretty sure you probably didn't. or maybe you blew a fuse while putting in the new battery.

Yes I did. No fuses are blown.

If the radio and lights work with the new battery, but it doesn't crank, I'd be concerned the new battery is any good, and get it tested before diving into anything broken or blown in the car.

Last suggestion is probably the best yet. I would try going over all the steps again in the install and make sure all of the connections are good and if all else checks out, make sure that the new battery is a winner before going any further... it's always the little things that are such a pain, such as getting a new battery that actually works! (wink)

if you have an alarm system and replace/take out the battery you may need to reset or disarm the alarm system as well.
