i've just eeked out a good deal with a friend on some 17" Motegi MR7's for my P5..have'nt bought em yet though..weird thing is in the application guide it gives the specs for my 02 P5..17X7 SILVER MR7 5X100,4.5 +40m SILVER ...isn't our bolt pattern 5/114 or sumthin??? not sure if i even know what i'm talking about as i have never purchased rims b4...will these things bolt on 2 my ride or what??? Please help and much appreciated

114.3=4.5 ;) A pretty common bolt-pattern.
It's the offset (the+40 number)that is tricky.

The recipe:
5(lugs) that are114.3mm apart, with 40mm of offset. :)

BTW...Welcome to the club!! (drinks)

thnks 4 the info..i've seen pics of P5's with these rims which is why i was confused..with an Eibach ProKit and 205/40/17 i have'nt heard many complaints about rubbing..nuthin serious anyway..i'm just hoping it won't..:)

i sure hope so..they r a bit on the heavy side but i'm strictly appearance oriented..im not so sure that finding this site was the best idea for the wallet but the it's amazing how much better these cars look with some springs and bigger wheels..im here now and thx 4 the warm welcome..:)

Yeah, I know what you mean. So far, after seeing all the other sweet cars around here, I want a Spool turbo and some JIC coil-overs. That oughtta run me about...oh...$5000!

These wheels are not the right fittment for your car.

If you are running a 17x7 with a 205/40 tire you need at least a +42mm offset but I wouldnt recommend using that....go with a +45mm offset with your 17x7 and 205/40's THEN you will be good to go. :D

This is all in the fittment recipie posted for everyones benefit please take a moment to check it out if you havent...

Hope this helps!

thx 4 the clarification.. i find it hard 2 believe that the +2 mm in offset could make that much difference...i did skim through the recipe's provided but was planning to hope for the best considering i'd be payin next 2 nuthin for the rims...but rubbing would definitely suck..:(

Kinda amazing, but that 2mm can be annoying as s***. Hence the foundation for the recipe. It has no flaws and should require no further modification to your fenders to fit a maximum width tire while retaining factory gearing.
