I am getting ready to install the coolant sensor, I wanted to know if it matters what kind of sensor it is. I have a extra stock coolant sensor that I was going to use, or is it a certain kind of sensor I need to use. I have sent a couple email out to people and have gotten no answer from anyone.

Did you find out if you can share the the stock coolant sensor itself?.... I am doing that with my Megasquirt.

Don't share the stock sensor.

I installed a GM sensor and let the Microtech read that one. It reads about 5 degrees higher than the stock one but you are only worried about the relative change in temp when tuning so that doesn't matter much.

Thanks for thr info, now if I could get a couple days off from work to finish

Steve @ NSN instructed me to use a coolant temp sensor from a mid-nineties 4.3 v6 Chevy Blazer, and that's what's hooked up to mine now.

Joe, where did you install the sensor at? I have been trying the find a place just don't know where.

I had another drill and welded with aluminum on the side housing with the rest of the sensors. looks like it belongs their. But yeah a gm sensor works best mid 90's

Anything special that was used to install the sensor

A plumbing tee, and some worm clamps. Also any wiring you need to extend the connectors from the sensor. Oh, and don't forget when you get the sensor you will need the pigtail connector as well.
