OK, just a quick question...

I have a MAP clamp set to read a max output of roughly 3psi. I have a manual boost controller set to around 18psi. I have step-colder plugs and the upgraded fuel pump internals.

Tonight I was getting onto the highway in third, and put the pedal down. Everything was fine...AFRs looks good (10-11 ish), fuel pressure was good (1600psi), boost was good (less than 20psi)...all of a sudden I got a cut of some sort. At the same time I got a knock retard warning. I backed off and took it easy the rest of the way home.

My question...why? Fuel pressure was high, boost wasn't too high...boost reading was low (via the MAP clamp)...no other signs of anything wrong until the cut. Only thing is that it's kind of cold right now...high 30s to low 40s.

What could have caused this cut, and what would I have to monitor/change to see if it was going to happen again? I'm really trying to get this setup dialed in, because I don't plan to do anything else to the engine once this is all sorted out.

did it happen around 4000-4500 rpm? I was getting some type of cut like your getting and i just swapped out the bov i had on for my stock and it went away.

Well, I was thinking that as well, but I'm confused as to what about the cold weather would cause that. I mean, I know the air density is going up, but what does the ECU see to make it cut like that if the air is more dense?

Mean too much air...Means it will lean out. Means cut.

that is called cold weather cut. Unless you have the cp-e flash or an AP you can look forward to it.
