Plate Lights

Does anyone know how to remove them and what bulb goes in there? i just wanted to replace mine to have a hyper white look.

i just bought my 5 today and man am i excited. i am just starting to put my mod list together.

yeah i like the way lexus is350's have theres l.e.d white..it looks real nice.

Light bulb replacement instructions start on 8-38 of the Owners Manual. Light bulb specifications are found on 10-6.

Fog light replacement is found on 8-41, license plate bulb replacement is found on 8-43.

thanks, i planning to make the fog lights and plate light in hyper white and i just need to know what light to order.

Actually you only have to turn it on once! Just turn that rear light on and close the hatch.....The light goes off when the hatch closes!

Just keep the light switch in the middle position and it will turn on when the hatch is open.

I used a putty knife and a towel and pryed my way around the edge very gently. It'll pop off.

I tried LEDs in that cargo/trunk area light and was not impressed. The light output from the LEDs was much worse than the regular incandesent light.
I picked up a couple of cold cathode/computer nerd case lights, but haven't gotten around to doing anyting with them yet.

I do have LED replacement bulbs for my plate lights and it looks....(boobs2)

where did you get the bulbs? and does it throw up a code when you switch them out? thanks man

No code. AFAIK, the 5 does not have a 'bulb minder'.

I don't remember where I got them. I want to say it was superbrightleds.com but I'm not certain.

Sweet man, thanks. i got it off and bought some LED lights at eautoworks.com.
i'll post up pictures when i install them.

I finally got my led plate lights. i love them. here are some pictures. taking off the back panel was easier than i thought. i was just pulling from the wrong part. you need to start from the top and it all pops off.
