Pioneer or Kenwood?

i just took out the pocket and fixed it
now it looks much better

anywayz.... my HU is just sitting on top of the pocket w/o anything
coz the HU didn't really come w/ a metal bracket...
is that normal?or would it be stable..

you got the mazdaspeed pocket right? it should fit pretty snug into that. on mine you can just slide out my hu so i put in some screws on the side of the hu that secures it into place.

mine looks pretty stable...
doesn't look like it would slide out or anything

just installed the ipod adapter,Rockford Fostgate Punch 120.2 amplifier and the Polk Audio/MOMO MM12 subwoofer too
now everything is all set

let me go take a pic..........what ipod adapter did you use? i just have rca cables hooked up to the cd changer port.

i just used the pioneer one.....
coz i didn't want to get the ipod car charger and stuff...

you mean the one that was like $100? let me know how it works for you. i almost got it but read nothing but bad reviews on it. says you have to scroll through the artists one at a time and cant play music while your scrolling. but let me know.
heres my screensavers. i dont know what each one is because i made these long ago. but most are on my hu. the titles are self explanitory as far as who is racing who in the vids.........

and yea the scrolling system is slow
so i just make a s*** load of playlist of the musics that i like..
lol
and i like to keep the ipod in the glove box... thats why i bought the adapter....

you gotta use the software to burn selected files onto a cd i think. like i said, i haven't added new screensavers in months.

Just to weigh in my opinion...i've had 5 different kenwoods (3 excelon and 2 regular) and 1 pioneer. My pioneer got stolen (along with everything else in my car) and honestly I was ok with it...I hated it. this was back in 1996 or so. I was excited to get the insurnace money and buy a new kenwood.
I have never had a problem with a Kenwood (except for the stupid MASK ribbon break which is easy to fix) and I continue to buy them. I'm actually selling my kenwood excelon now...KDC-X889 with 5v preouts and a ton of options and settings. (pm me if interested) I love it. The only reason i'm getting rid of it is to get the DDX8017 double din DVD player with navigation. It's also excelon.

Anyway, my opinion is kenwood good, pioneer bad.

(boom07) close this thread already! make a choice Kennwood or pioneer, but don't go on reviews from owners of 2 different companys, (misleading info) so make your own judgement! you have all the time in the world to make mistakes..... buying a HU can't be that hard of a mistake. (poke)
