Heres a pic of my pillar. We decided to go with black gauges with silver bezels. I also painted both pillars with Black Mica paint, just like the outside of the car.

I'm painting both of my A pillars black laquer and have a single pod painted black mica. I like your pillar. Will you paint the other one to match?

Installing gauges

I'm new to this, I'm looking for instructions how to install my electrical oil pressure gauge and my air/fuel gauge. Where do I hook into to get them to work. Hopefully you guys that have done this can help me. Thanks

This should answer your questions about the A/F gauge.

As for other advise,
When hooking up the illumination, take the panel on the side of the dash off to expose the wiring for the dimmer switch. Then hook into the wires as desribed below.

I did wire mine to the dimmer. I spliced into the wires near the dimmer unit. There are 3 wires. One is black. The other two are blue and green (with white stripes if I remember, anyway just use the 2 that aren't black. I don't use the dimmer much myself but if I do, now it works.

You'll need to hook your illumination wire to one of these and your ground wire to the other.

As far as 12V and Accesory, I don't remember where I spliced into...just get a volt meter and start taking reading off the wiring harnesses.

Good luck

sweet. looks like some gauges are in order, which is not a bad idea since i should be getting a boost controller as well at some point soon

Sorry to be a pain in the ass mod, but we are trying to clean up all the forums to make it easier to search for items, and less cluttered. In the future, please post in the appropriate forum...example - Intakes, dispite being for the Mazdaspeed, belong in the performance section. Buying a carbon fiber hood for your Mazdaspeed belongs in the Appearance section. If you raced someone in your Mazdaspeed it still belongs in the Racing/Motorsports section. If you have any questions, comments, or complaints, feel free to PM me at any time.

Thanks again for your patience as we clear up the forums to make it better for you!

Finally figured out what the buzzing from my dash was. It was because I didn't have my Defi A/F gauge grounded to chasis ground. So, now my gauges don't dim, but they read correctly and don't buzz when I shut off the car. Just a word of warning.
