Piggyback ems solutions and base model protege transmission questions

:
Mazdaspeed Protege 2003.5
Im looking for alot or little help on piggyback ems solutions for the msp, also if any of you msp owners have had your lsd blow out, you know its an expensive fix. Im debating whether to put a base model transmission with a open differential in it or just buying a new differential. Can you guys put pros and cons about both if you have expierience on swapping transmissions and using a piggyback ems solution.. really looking forward for everyones input...
thank you

Hey. I would recommend getting a SplitSecond Air/Fuel controller. It is one of the better solutions for the MSP.

As for the differential, I would recommend an MFactory LSD. These are made to get beat up and they cost just a hair over more than a stock replacement LSD from Mazda.

As the two previous posts, go with the Split Second Air/Fuel Controller- best bang for the buck and user tunable.
I threw an open diff transmission back into mine a couple of weeks ago just because I needed to get the car mobile again, but will be replacing the failed LSD with an MFactory unit within the next couple of months. I expected a bunch of wheelspin and that's just what I've got. In the rain, if I hit boost all I do is spin the wheels. So, take that into consideration.

Just go buy a Mfactory LSD and be done with it. I did and dont regret it!

Edit: if you buy a open diff transmission your just going to replace it later and will cost you more money in the long run.

I wouldn't say that's necessarily true, as far as I know no one has actually broken an open diff yet. But you will certainly be doing your MSP a disservice by installing an open diff, you won't get the same level of traction and you will be taking away a key performance advantage MSPs have over regular Proteges. So yea.. just get the MFactory LSD.

Thanks guys, like Preferio said i just need it mobile again ASAP Mfactory will be in very near future. And the split second A/F controller link? I've looked on street unit, and protege garage and cant seem to find it but im probably rushing through pages. Preferio whats your SSAFC V1? is that a stand alone or piggyback? I'm running 11psi at midrange and 7 redline with supporting mods just no tune, still on stock tune. And it needs one bad, I'm in Mississippi and have to go all the way loiusiana to a great/specialists in tuning japanese imports type shop, here is just full of rednecks in their trucks or mustangs, and only tune dosmestics, just joking around haha, but in all seriousness there is no shop worthy in MS. I wanted to know some solutions into getting custom tunes on a dyno and computer, and thats laptop compatible. Any and all input is GREATLY appriciated. (sorry for my spelling)

I wasn't implying that he would break it but he would be unhappy with the lack of traction and eventually upgrade it to a LSD.
