Pics of the other woman...

Love the Mazda 6, and drive her every day, but here's what I take out when I really want to have a good time...

The old turbo setup is already sold. It is alot of fun on a stock 302. Mine ran 6.70's - 6.80's @ 104mph in the 1/8th at 13psi blowing through the torque converter. Should have been making around 500rwhp at that boost level, and was still a 100% street car (albeit one with a roll cage). Looking to make quite a bit more than that with the new motor/turbo/ecu, and still drive it everywhere on the street.

When I saw this thread title, I immediately got this image of a young Ann Margaret in "Viva Las Vegas" prancing around singing "He's with my rival". Finishing with that pout and "My rival is a baby blue racing car!"

yeah nice car. so you get those times on a stock block?

Thanks for the compliments. I'll try to get some updated pics here in the next couple weeks as the new motor is going in. All I have now are pics of a bunch of new parts.

Here's a teaser of the new exhaust driven hair dryer...

The old combo dyno'd around 440whp/510wtq @ 10psi with valve springs that were absolutely shot. I replaced them and upped the boost to run in the 6.70's. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I was blowing through the converter really bad, and hitting the rev limiter before the traps. The car should have been good for 6.50's @ 106mph or so.

If I don't see well over 700whp and similar torque at moderate boost levels on pump gas, I'll be pretty let down. The old turbo was a Turbonetics 62mm, the new one is a Precision 78mm.

How in the hell is that stock block holding up to that much power? Granted the turbo setups are not making (and loosing) as much power as a SC setup. But still, nice car.
