Picking up an MP3 tomorrow

That was definately the problem with the heat, and to top it off it was about a 1 minute fix. Thank you for that.

As far as the bushings go, I have read alot on here about people going to Energy Suspension. Do you recommend I upgrade to those or just replace them with Mazda OEM?

Gottcha, lol I thought for sure it was my old one. I had the same problem with the heat- AND I had a B&M short shifter.

mazda has a new set of bushings out...i think they're teflon coated...i'd get them and put some grease on them and let it ride for now...there's been quite a few other "fixes" on here...but i don't think any of them last long either...but i could be wrong.

i got my rear bushings fixed at the dealership early in the year (jan. or so) and have had no clunking since.
topher, i might have to feel the kartboy for myself and see if i like it now that i can compare it to something. i may be doing a swap!

hey it might be. dcbeggs, have you found out your production number yet? The dealer i bought mine from bought it from a dealer in kansas. so they might have done the same thing.

I haven't found out the production number yet. That is on the to do list for tomorrow.

What do you guys recommend for gear oil?

theres one called leading lubricants which is supposed to be awesome. (first) ill try to find out how to get it tomorrow. its somehting i need to do too.

Yes the noise can sound like something loose.

I haven't had any problems with the heat or AC.

My shifter is stock so I cna't help with that one.

It gives you a good reason to get off the interstate. The MP3 is fun to play with on a winding road.

Fixed the clunk this morning, that was a simple fix. I picked up bushing from the Mazda dealer, who knows how long those will last. The old ones were dried and cracked badly.

Took about a 200 mile trip through the mountains today. That car handles amazingly awesome. Had the tires squeeling on every turn practically. The only thing that sucks is how sloppy this B&M short shifter is. I really need bushings.

get kartboy bushings! Just ordered a set today. They work REAL nice (tried it on a friends msp) and cost $28 shipped (kartboy.com)

how much for stupid bushings??

I've been putting off buying new bushings but the clunking is driving me nuts? How much is it to get the factory to replace them? If I buy the cartboy bushings, how hard is it to replace them myself? do I need special tools?

kartboy bushings are actually for the shifter. the bushings you need for the klunk are the sway bar bushings. i think they run for $36 right now. just ask for the rear sway bar bushings, E-set.

I should have the kartboy bushing tomorrow. I'm very excited to install them. I'll let everyone know how they feel on the B&M SS.

Installed the kartboy bushings today. They feel pretty good. Feels like there is more of a solid shift to each gear. However, the sloppyness I was talking about, come to find out, was a really bad install on the B&M SS. That took a little work to get that to come out right but all was good in the end. Also installed the kartboy exhaust hanger bushings. That was kind of a pain in the ass, or course the 103 degree denver heat wasn't helping any. It's even hot in the garage.
