I've been driving mine for 4 weeks and just love it. Lots of new stuff to learn though.

Definitely tons to learn. Pretty much figured out the music options. My iPhone streaming works great, my MP3 cd's play perfectly. The sirius is up and running even though I have no idea what the stations are.
Just now have to get used to the size difference between the CX-9 and my 4runner. This is certainly a lot of truck.
Rolled home in my new CX-9 two days ago swooping into the dealer in order to take advantage of the 0.0% deal. Left there with a Touring FWD with the added moonroof/Bose package in blue/black, one of only 3 blue models within 100 miles of here. The second was parked next to mine and the third was right at 100 miles away, so the wife is happy to get what she wanted, mainly the color and the moonroof.
Now we're a two-Mazda family, our other being a 2003 Protege5, another damn good car. Several years ago it was Mazda's designs that caught my eye, notably the MX-6. I had been a Nissan man owning a '86 200sx notchback coupe for nearly 20 years. Now that was a damn good car that just wouldn't quit. Even after it was totaled I drove it without repair for 2 more years. It just kept running on and on, but eventually the body began to be eaten away by the harsh northeast winter weather and road salt. So I gave it away to a public radio station as the car gave me tax write-off good-bye kiss. I still miss it but the pain was eased through the Protege5. Today, I'm soaring with the CX-9.

I went with the Touring without nav but 4.3" display screen.
dont really need Nav with a iPHone, i just use mapquest 4, comes thru the speakers fine and lowers music when streaming from iPhone!!

Sirius as a trial was fine for me but I now just use the iPhone to access internet radio or podcasts. The iPhone via bluetooth is very convenient and for voice is perfect. I couldn't think of a reason to actually subscribe to Sirius after the free trial ran out so I just use the iPhone now.
So can my iPhone stream anything to the 9? How do I make it stream an app like I have downloaded for internet radio? Or mapquest? TIA
If you have a iphone or a smartphone (winphone/android) and you have an unlimited data plan, then you can stream such programs like pandora, and plug your headphone jack on your phone into the 3.5mm jack in the car, using a 3.5mm male to male cord, which you can buy at walmart, bestbuy, kmart, etc.

Actually you don't even need the cord, just use the bluetooth. If the smartphone is set up to use bluetooth for hands free calling then it is already set up to play music or podcasts etc from Pandora, NPR, BBC etc. Just open the app on the phone and the bluetooth will automatically kick in and play through the car stereo if you set the stereo mode to BT (bluetooth). You do need to make sure that you have a reasonable volume set on the phone as that will affect the volume in the car (which can also be controlled by the radio volume knob or steering wheel toggle).
