Photo of the Day

I have a Sony DSC-F717 I wish i would have waited and gotten their new DSC-F828 a 8 mp camera. Mine is only a 5. It would have only costed me an extra 300$ to wait. But oh well. Itll will come down in price and i will eventually get it

I hope the pictures don't have to recent.

This has always been a favorite of mine. The empty locker room of the 1970 Thundering Herd the day after 75 players, coaches, traniners, and fans died in a plane crash returning from a game in East Carolina.

It was taken the day after the plane crash in Nov of 1970. It's creepy for sure but such a powerful image.

yeah all of those shadows on the left are peoples heads except or the one closest to the sun. its a bronze statue of a little girl and a turtle (go figure). kinda looks like some setting a bird free but its a turtle... hehe

that pic was taken at a restaurant here in texas that prides itself on having a great view of the sunset. the place is built on the side of a cliffwall and has a bunch of different patios built on the face...

btw, its in austin, texas on lake travis.

abel.
Where is that exactly ???? what is the name ??? Looks nice to chk out when I go to Austin .....

The Oasis Restaurant in Austin is by far one of the best places in Texas to watch the sunset. The main restaurant is built on top of a cliff that looks onto Lake Travis. There is an array of different wooden patio levels built off of the face of the cliff so that there is not a single bad table in the house. As soon as the sun has disappeared beneath the horizon, workers ring a large bell which is everyone's clue to hold up your drink and toast the sunset...

Im not sure how to attach images. but heres a pic I took of the Gulf before we went diving Kick ass pics BTW.

Thanks for the compliments. it's just a passing hobby of mine, nothing serious. And these were just what I've taken with my digicam and have on my work computer. You should see some of the arcitectural shots I took around Phoenix during college. Sadly I've lost the film and only have the original 8x10s.

The camera I used for these is a Cannon Elph Digital 3.2 MP. It's a great little digicam. Fits anywhere (except an Altoids box) and takes great pics and movies with sound. It's been out for a while and I think is now in the $200-$300 range. It doesn't get as clean as a regular film camera, but is perfect resolution up to 5x7 (300 dpi) and good quality up to 8 x 10 (180 dpi).

nice... im definitely going canon next time... i like their G5 and i also like their elph models as well.

im looking for a small canon now that i can carry around in my pocket and the elfs are small enough thats for sure. ive started that page on my website where i take pictures everyday and post them their on the site. my bulky olympus is a bit cumbersome to carry around everywhere. im leaning towards an elph so that i can literally take it everywhere.

in fact, im going there tonight to check them out, a guy here has a s400 which looks really cool. half of me wants an elf b/c of size and the other wants a G5 for the complexity and control factor.
